But it’s not here yet.  However, there is the rampage jr.

6:15pm, Lunken Airport parking lot at Wilmer ave and Airport rd Tuesdays.

This is a good time to wiggle the legs a bit and churn like a late 70’s Italian 4 cylinder on an early spring weekend.  Like the European 4 banger, we’ll stutter and start and blow off the oil residue, cough and wheeze while we suck in big air.   Eventually we’ll find the top gear and things will smooth out.

The 7 Hills/Mercy Healthplex nation will be out with Darkhorse et al. to transition into last year’s wildly successful Tuesday nite charge into New Richmond.  Due to temps and lack of daylight we’ll offer up a ‘lite’ version of the Rampage that bypasses the climbs and side splitting rollers.   We’ll just head down to NR in a smooth pace line, working on form and building the speed up to the hi 20’s and low 30’s at times.   We return to Lunken and take a cooldown lap to the downtown stadiums and back.  This early on, the pace, although fast, will be the slowest all year, so we encourage  all those who don’t know what all the fuss is about, to come out and experience it.  After a few weeks, when the temps moderate more, the days get long enough, and all the rest of the thugs come out and break legs, there will be little mercy shown as the Rampage kicks into overdrive and renders lesser souls hapless.

By now you all know the mantra:  DRILL IT!   Warm up through California, OH get on the 52 on-ramp and fly.  If you got it, bring it.  Stretch the rope down 52.  Any group over 10 people take the entire right lane, keep a smooth rotation and come off to the right side away from the other lane.  We’ll let the cars have that one.  The large group at speed keeps this a safe ride, as we move only a few ticks slower than the automobiles, who btw, maintained their restraint and acceptance all last year.  Out and back route, so you can’t get lost.  Check your mount and make sure it’s in good working order.  Once the train leaves  the station it won’t stop ‘til New Richmond.  You’ll have to latch back on when they return.   Throw in a couple of sprunts at either end to remove any ounce of energy left, and you have a decent outing.   Enjoy the rush,  WOOHOO.
